Common Questions

Questions we hear most

Yes. Truck Collision Services is a one-stop shop for commercial truck and trailer repair. Since 1990 we have handled semi truck repairs, collision repair, complete body work, frame repair, alignments, restoration, media blasting, graphics and wraps, all in our own facility.

We work with all major insurance companies. After we inspect your truck and write the damage estimate, we coordinate with your insurer so the claim and the repair keep moving.

The first step is to come in for an estimate. Call us at (517) 886-4510 or bring your truck to our Lansing shop at 16260 Felton Rd. We inspect the damage and explain what the repair involves before any work begins.

Once the estimate is approved, we order the parts and start the repair. Disassembly, structural and body repair, paint and refinishing and reassembly all happen in our facility, followed by a quality inspection and final delivery.

No. In 1999 we added 18,000 square feet to our facility so we could offer every truck collision repair need under our own roof. That lets us monitor the quality and timing of every repair ourselves.

Our business holds the I-CAR Gold Class collision repair certification for heavy trucks, a recognition of ongoing training in modern collision repair.

We proudly serve the entire state of Michigan, from the Sault Ste. Marie Canadian border down to the Indiana and Ohio borders. Our south location is at 16260 Felton Rd in Lansing and our north location is at 1796 O'Rourke Blvd in Gaylord.

Yes. We run two shops. Our south location is in Lansing at 16260 Felton Rd., Lansing, MI 48906, phone 517-886-4510. Our north location is in Gaylord at 1796 O'Rourke Blvd., Gaylord, MI 49735; its direct line is listed on our Contact page. Call the shop closest to where your truck is so the right team can plan your estimate and repair.

Call the shop nearest to your truck. For mid and southern Michigan, the Lansing shop at 517-886-4510 is usually the better fit. For northern Michigan and the area toward the Mackinac Bridge, the Gaylord shop is closer, and its direct line is on our Contact page. Either shop can answer general questions about our services.

Yes. If your truck cannot be driven after a collision, have your towing company bring it to the Lansing or Gaylord shop. Call ahead so we know it is coming, and let us know your insurance company and claim number if you already have one. That helps us start the inspection sooner.

You do not have to. Many owners call their insurer and us around the same time. We inspect the truck, write the damage estimate and coordinate with your insurance company so the claim and the repair keep moving. If you are paying for the repair yourself, the same estimate explains the work before anything begins.

We look at the visible damage and check for hidden problems behind panels, in the frame and in the suspension and steering. The estimate lists the parts, repairs and refinishing we expect the truck to need. If we find more damage once the truck is taken apart, we document it and talk with you and your insurer before continuing.

It depends on the damage, parts availability and insurance approval. Smaller body and paint jobs can move quickly, and many repairs qualify for our express one to three day turnaround. Larger collision, frame or restoration work takes longer. Because we do every step in-house, we can give you a realistic timeline after the inspection and keep you updated.

Yes. Frame repair is one of our core services. We measure the frame to find bends or twists, straighten it with heavy truck frame equipment and confirm the measurements afterward. A straight frame matters for safe handling, proper alignment and even tire wear.

Even a moderate impact can shift the front end or axles. A truck that pulls, dog-tracks or wears tires unevenly is costing you money and can be harder to control. We offer front end and axle alignments in-house, so they can be done as part of the collision repair before your truck goes back on the road.

Yes. Paint and refinishing happen in our own facility after the body and structural work is complete. We prepare the surface, match the color and refinish the repaired areas so they blend with the rest of the truck. We can also apply graphics, lettering and wraps once the paint work is done.

Yes. Restoration projects often combine media blasting, body work, frame repair and paint. We start by assessing the truck and talking through your goals, then plan the work in stages. Because everything is done under our roof, the restoration stays coordinated from bare metal to final finish.

Bring your contact information, your insurance company and claim number if you have one, and any photos of the accident scene. Remove personal items from the cab if you can. Let us know about any other issues you have noticed, such as warning lights, pulling or noises, so we can check them during the inspection.

We are open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Saturday is available by appointment only, and we are closed on Sunday.
